Yangon Heritage Trust’s primary and most important work since its founding is advocating to save architectural, cultural and environmental heritage of Yangon, to share techniques and approaches, and to maintain city’s unique characters and streetscape through urban planning and development control. YHT was able to make urban heritage conservation an agenda and a necessary component in discussion for urban related issues and development related to heritage part of the city both in public and private sector. As a result of continuing advocacy, heritage becomes popular contemporary culture among public especially in young generation.
